Is it so that we can only get as high as we have been low? Is this universe so dualistic that this is the case?
Or, can we get high and never look back?
Spectrum
Yes.

A good example of this is in TaiJi push hands practice when you encounter force/ struggle / obsticle you overcome by yielding to the direction of the force. (li)

Another example is in wu ji standing practice, you relax and relax and relax into your most efficient state of balance....

Okay, but isnt this dualistic notion transcend able? In the sense that: what fun is it to get high and low if your not going to get high only?

Heat makes condensation and then clouds make rain/coolness. Its all in the balance.

However, doesn't balance denote yin and yang playing back and forth instead of yang ruling?
Is this depressing?

As one gets "higher" in cultivation, the balancing act of duality differs. According to the level of the cultivator, the highs and lows of that level are different from the ones of the next level.
As is, one cannot know the highs and lows of one who is 4 levels above them in cultivation. The attainment is not based on the highs and lows, but their highs and lows are based on their level of attainment.
