This sutra is on the same site as the one that has the scripture of forty nine chapters.

but because of it's pertinence to daily practice, i think it's maybe worthy of it's own thread

Please enjoy

It is great! Only thing is the translation needs a bit of work, for there are some things that don't mix well with the cultivation they are explaining in that Sutra. It just seems there to be a slight contradiction in mental posture. For instance it speaking to not hold onto thoughts and the like, but then mentioning to get lost in them...not really advisable. Anywho...

Soon , if I have the time, I'll work on a re-translation and or wording of it.. haha

Peace and Blessings,

haha, yeah i noticed the translation wasn't the best. There is an essence to the sutra, but i suppose that could be misunderstood in part because of some of the translation.

it would be good if you could touch it up biggrin.gif

Some of it reminded me of one of your articles about patience and steady cultivation. In particular, this bit:

The development of spiritual wisdom, whether fast or slow, is beyond one's control.
Don't try to seek spiritual wisdom hastily in steadiness (of mind).
Our (born) nature will be hurt in haste,
and when hurt, then no spiritual wisdom.

若定不求慧,而慧自生,此名真慧。

If not seeking spiritual wisdom in steadiness (of mind),
but spiritual wisdom is self-generated,
this is called true spiritual wisdom.

In regard to "

My guess is that rather than actually get lost in them, maybe he means to ignore them, let them go, allow them to dissolve. 'Coz they only exist due to our attention of them.
