I might try to make this so I can see Max and crew. Now that I am back on the east coast I won't be as close to LA and Arizona workshops so NJ would be good. Also sounds like alot of TB's are going to this one.
Is Smile planning on attending? Can I crash at your place if your going?
Do Sean and Leslie want to do a workshop before they leave the country?

Why do you even have to ask? Of course, you can stay. Did your relatives disown you or something?

LOL. No not at all. My cousin still lives in Greenpoint but he doesn't want to do the workshop I think.
I mean, if there was any problem I could stay with him and meet you at the train or something. But I think if I go will be a quick trip, come in the friday and leave sunday afternoon.
Has Chris mentioned where in NJ the workshop will be yet?

I'd like to go but I'm not 100% at this point. I've got my son that weekend and I'm not sure what his deal is (he does some qigong and meditation, I showed him kunlun 1...but he's 14, so I dont know if he'd be interested)...mentioned it to Jen, but I'm not sure if she wants to go either...then there's the whole cash thing to figure out...I'll sit down and do some talkin' & figgerin' and see what's up. AZ cost me like 900 by the time all was said and done, foundation training is going to cost me like 2k, this one will be...well, depends on who's going and if I am paying for them too

I do ok but I aint made of cash hahahaaa

I surely will try to make it though!

I think I will go to this. Does anyone have any idea where this will be in NJ? I have family in NY 40 minutes north of Manhattan and would like to know if I can get to the workshop by train from NYC. It would save me a few bucks and I could plan ahead.

Anne-Marie and I will be there! It's already on our calendar.

Sounds like a great opportunity to meet a lot more TBs.
AFAIK, no location has been mentioned yet. Max and friends are just finishing up the second day of the seminar in Del Mar. After that, Mantra68 may be able to shed light on the location.

We have put off our European tour until May. We plan to hold our New Jersey seminar on May 3rd-4th. With the free lecture on the 2nd.
We will post details as soon as they are available.
Sorry for the delay, but I could not miss my daughter's 9th birthday party in April.

I may also be able to have a few bums crash on my floor etc...I've only 2 small rooms... BUT-the NJ transit/AMTRAC line is pretty convenient to my place in Plainsboro- which is some 7 miles from Princeton...on the other side of the tracks.

Hey kids,
Ain't been Bummin' much lately, but I do have good news. We are confirming the hotel and dates for the New Jersey seminar. It looks like we will be at the Holiday Inn in the Meadowlands on May 3rd - 4th for a Kunlun level one workshop.
Max will also be teaching the Kunlun Medicine Workshop on the following Monday (May 5th) at 7pm.
Once we are under contract with Holiday Inn (should be in the morning), I will set up the online registration form through kunlunbliss.com.
One side note is that there will be no registering for private sessions until the day of the seminar and they will be somewhat limited in availability.
Hope to see you all there.
Cheers!

Please explain why everyone is so gung-ho on Kunlun around here. It seems almost like a mass-obsession that has convinced into buying the book. It seems some here shun Kunlun, while some don't care but they appear to be in the minority or they don't talk as much about the subject. What is so special about Kunlun?

Xienkula1,
This has been discussed to death around here... everyone is pretty much argued out on both sides of the debate so you'll likely only get a tepid thread sparked up at the current time. If you search back in the day, you can find more lively discussions. Our webmaster is working on a separate Kunlun forum to help taobums get back to our original "school neutral" mandate and to avoid any sense of affiliation. Thanks for your patience on this matter.
Yours,
Yoda

Hmmmmm, now I have read some threads with feuds about the Kunlun and some discussions about the authenticity of Max. Did you try it and get results? Thanks for the recommendation Yoda, it satisfies some of the curiosity. I can't wait till the book arrives to see what is so particular about this "hack." It sounds similar to a lot of neigong and alchemy practices.
With Thanks,
XienKula

The East Coast is on! We have things finalized for the New Jersey Seminar.
Those interested in attending can sign up
here.
Also, Sunday afternoon from 3-6 pm will be the
medicine workshop for those who want to learn methods for applying the Kunlun energy in a healing manner. There will be some Mao Shan healing methods taught as well.
We are happy to finally be making it out and it looks like another good time is in store with all of our East coast friends.
Looking forward to seeing you Bums there.
Cheers!

Standing is the same thing as the 5 elements. It is called the Maoshan 5 elements. Max requests that we not discuss the Red Phoenix practice.

I don't think he teaches the full Mao Shan 5 anymore. But basic standing with arms at the sides.
Atleast the last 2 workshops in Arizona that's how he taught it.
Probably that's better as I remember alot of people were having difficulty and shaking knees just with basic standing without raising the arms.
I thought I remember Mantra68 saying they were putting out a book on Maoshan standing but that was a few months ago.

I'm sure whatever he (Max) decides to teach will be worth the trek.
Been doing zhan zhuang since 1991 so I'm hoping that he does teach the 5 Mao Shan standing postures.
It's always interesting to compare other systems' zhuangs to those of yiquan.
