in his book "Chinese Tonic Herbs," Ron Teeguarden explains how to make your own herbal wines and liquors and includes quite a few recipes.

As long as you have access to a good herb supplier (local acupuncture clinic for instance) it's really quite easy (and cheap) to do at home.
